About

A self‑paced course for support workers in supported accommodation and others who work with young people after traumatic or highly stressful events. The program introduces the principles of Psychological First Aid (PFA) as an immediate, humane, and practical response that promotes resilience, reduces distress, and supports coping and functioning. Learners will explore appropriate responses to trauma, how to recognise when professional mental health support is needed, typical post‑trauma reactions and PTSD symptoms, and the impact of compassion fatigue and burnout. The course also highlights the limits of one’s role and how to seek professional advice when required.
